III. General remarks about data processing

1. Scope of processing personal data
As a general rule, we collect and use the personal data of our users only to the extent that it is required for providing a functioning website, our content and services. The collection and use of our users’ personal data are carried out on a regular basis only upon obtaining the consent of the users. An exception shall apply in cases where obtaining prior consent is not possible for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted under statutory regulations.

2. Legal basis for processing personal data
If and when we have obtained the consent of the person concerned (data subject) for processing his or her personal data, the legal basis for processing the personal data is Article 6, para 1, letter a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

When processing the data required for the fulfilment of a contract in which one contracting party is the data subject, the legal basis is Article 6, para 1, letter b) of the GDPR. This shall also apply to any processing operations that are required for carrying out pre-contractual measures. If and when the processing of personal data is required for fulfilment of a legal obligation that our company is liable for, the legal basis is Article 6, para. 1, letter c) of the GDPR.

In the event the vital interests of the data subject or those of another natural person require personal data to be processed, the legal basis is Article 6, para, letter d) of the GDPR.

If processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or that of a third party, and the interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the above-mentioned interest, the legal basis for the processing is Article 6, para 1 letter f) of the GDPR.

3. Deletion of data and retention period
The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of its retention is no longer being pursued. Furthermore, the data may be saved if it is envisaged by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other provisions, which the data controller must observe. The data will also be blocked or deleted if the retention period prescribed by the norms indicated expires, unless there is a need to continue to save the data in order to conclude or fulfil a contract.

4. Use of service providers within the framework of the website
We use external service providers to process your data to some extent. We have carefully selected these services providers. They are bound to our instructions and are monitored on a regular basis. Transferring data to countries outside the EU or the European Economic Area (so-called third countries) does not take place.

IV. Providing the website and creating log files

1. Description and scope of data processing

Each time our internet site is accessed, our system automatically prepares data and information from the computer system accessing the site. When the website is only used for informative purposes, we will only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. During this process, the following types of data are collected:

• IP address
• Information about the type of browser and the version being used
• User’s operating system
• Date and time it is accessed
• Quantity of data being transmitted in each case
• Websites that the user’s system used to access our internet site
• Websites which the user’s system accesses from our website

The data is also saved in our system’s log files. The user’s IP address or other data that enables the data to be attributed to a user is thereby not affected. This data is not saved together with the user’s other personal data.

2. Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for temporarily saving the data is Art. 6, para 1, letter f) of the GDPR.

3. Purpose of data processing
It is necessary to temporarily save the IP address so that the website can be made available on the user’s computer. In order to do this, the user’s IP address must remain saved for the duration of the user’s session.

This purpose is the basis for our legitimate interest in processing the data in accordance with Article 6, para 1, letter f) of the GDPR.

4. Retention period
The data will be erased as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for its collection. In the event the data is collected in order to make the website available, this shall be the case when the respective session has ended.

5. Objection and removal option

The collection of data in order to make the website available and to save the data in log files is absolutely necessary to operate the internet site. Therefore, the user does not have the option of objecting to this data being saved.

V. Use of Google Analytics

1. Description and scope of data processing

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, which are text files that are saved on your computer; they make it possible to carry out an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and is saved there. In the event you have activated IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about the activities on the website and to provide other services related to the use of the website and internet to the operator of the website.

The IP address sent from your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google.

This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. During the process, IP addresses are processed in their shortened form, which thus eliminates the possibility that it can be traced to a specific individual. This means if the data collected about you identifies you personally, it is immediately prevented and the personal data is immediately erased.

2. Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the processing of personal data while using cookies for analysis purposes is Article 6, para 1, letter a) of the GDPR when the user has given his or her consent to this type of processing.

3. Purpose of data processing

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website and so that we can improve it on a regular basis. The statistics obtained enable us to improve our website and to design it in a more interesting way for you as a user. Google has agreed to comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield framework in the exceptional cases where personal data is transmitted to the USA: https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Article 6, para 1, p.1 letter f) GDPR.

4. Retention period, and objection and removal option
You can prevent cookies from being saved by changing the corresponding setting in your browser’s software; however, if you do this, please note that you will not be able to use all of the functions on this website. Moreover, you can prevent data from being collected by Google which is generated by the cookie and associated with your use of the website (incl. your IP address) and can prevent this data from being processed by Google if you download and install the browser plug-in available from the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account.
