Dieter and Elfi Anschütz attending farewell of the Mayor of Zella-Mehlis
After 22 years in office, Karl-Uwe Panse transferred his post as Mayor of the city of Zella-Mehlis to his successor Richard Rossel on June 30, 2012.

Many guests were invited to this ceremonial farewell of Mayor Karl-Uwe Panse: his family, many acquaintances and friends of many years as well as political and municipal companions. Also Dieter and Elfi Anschütz were invited to this ceremony as well as the Prime Minister of Thuringia Christine Lieberknecht.

The Anschütz family has a very long tradition in the city of Zella-Mehlis. The origin for the success of Anschütz GmbH & Co. KG lies back more than 155 years. Julius Gottlieb Anschütz founded the company in 1856 in Zella-Mehlis and kept enlarging it, employing around 550 workers in 1935. In 1945 the company was shut down and completely dismounted. In 1950 the company was re-established in the Danube-Bastion in Ulm, Germany, with 7 workers. The number of employees rose quickly to 250. Dieter Anschütz, representative of the 4th generation resumed the management and directed the enterprise with expertise and competence. In 1992 Jochen Anschütz entered the company as directed jointly with his father Dieter. Dieter Anschütz retired well-earned in 2008 and surrendered the management to his son Jochen Anschütz.
